Fairness and equity across the entire LGA
Council as a whole needs to ensure it is being fair and equitable
across the board. Each Councillor needs to not place their own Division
above all other Divisions and vote down motions to improve other
Divisions, especially where the Motion is bringing the standards in one
Division up to being comparative with the other Divisions, but ensure
the Local Government Area (LGA) is moving forward as a whole - not
leaving some areas to languish, and not promoting some areas over all others.
The whole LGA is what all the Councillors and the Mayor should be working towards.
Obviously, the Councillors have additional responsibilities to their particular Division, to ensure the wants, concerns and needs of their residents are listened to and brought to Council, but all Councillors and the Mayor are responsible across the whole LGA. And there needs to be a cohesive plan for the whole LGA.
