My "Hilton Travis 2020" campaign Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/HiltonTravis2020/.  It contains an updated list of Events I am attending as well as some more general posts.  Any information on my position regarding issues will also be posted to this blog so that those who are not on Facebook have a place they can read this information.

I am completely open about who I am and what I stand for - my regular Facebook page is available at https://www.facebook.com/Rav.Hilton.Travis for anyone to read - I have not deleted any posts from my history before (or after) nominating for Div 5 Councillor - everyone needs to see who I am if they are to understand who they are voting for.

In addition to this, my personal blog (generally pretty old, but there are a few more recent posts) can be found at https://hiltont.blogspot.com/.

If elected as the Division 5 Councillor, I intend to publish weekly updates on my activities as your Councillor in a location that will be linked from this post so that you can easily find it.  This will let you know who/where I have been meeting with people, what I have been working on and what progress is being made (if any) on any issues that I am addressing.

As I have said elsewhere, I see the role of Councillor as a representative of the people to Government - the only way I can see that the people can be properly represented is if your Councillor has an open door policy and is willing listen to all people, all points of view, and then works on a way forward that will address as many issues as practically possible for both now and into the future.

We are all in this together.  We are a community - not a group of communities - and we need to work together, pooling our resources so that we can better the lives of people in Div 5 and the whole Redland City Local Government Area as a whole.

Candidate for Redland City, Division 5, 2020

The Redlands inspires and challenges. I first saw the red colour of its fertile soil some 30 years ago as a young man when my mother, and aunt and uncle, purchased some land on Macleay Island (Alcheringa). Back then there was no real infrastructure on the Southern Moreton Bay Islands (SMBI). The mainland side of the Redlands, was starting to take off in terms of population, facilities and popularity. Macleay Island became my permanent home in 2015 although I’d worked in the Redlands for decades as an audio visual engineer, outside broadcasting technician and IT professional. I am community and wildlife focused and wish to serve on the Redland City Council as a Division 5 councillor. Interesting times, and why you may want to vote for me

If you're looking for someone who has both Anatomical Pathology and Infectious Diseases experience, and who can lead Division 5 into the future, then I'm the Candidate you'd want to place a "1" beside. If you're looking for someone who has the community as their central focus, then I'm the Candidate you'd want to place a "1" beside. If you're looking for someone you can trust to bring Division 5 as far forward as possible in the next term (and beyond), and have the Lived Expe rience of our residents be central to our plans for the future, then I'm the Candidate you'd want to place a "1" beside.
